An Intimate, Downtown Wedding with Handmade Touches
The story of how I came to shoot this wedding is pretty wild, and definitely my most last minute wedding ever! Early Saturday morning as I was getting ready for a brunch wedding I was browsing Facebook, as you do, and saw a post of another local photographer needing a wedding contract taken over today due to some complications for the photographer. I reached out immediately hoping to be able to help out this couple in need, and luckily the time they needed a photographer lined up perfectly to when I left my brunch wedding! So I zoomed down from Georgetown to Saint Mary’s Catholic church downtown after my first wedding, having no idea who I was going to be meeting and shooting for.
But y’all, it’s crazy how quickly I realized these two were 100% my vibe when I arrived! Hannah was the most laid back, chill bride I’ve ever met, and Crew was such an absolute sweetheart and just as covered in tattoos as I am. PERFECT! As I chatted with Hannah while she was getting ready I learned even more amazing details, she made her dress herself?!? Like, holy cow, I will never be that skilled at sewing.
Their ceremony was so full of love I got such big “I feel these emotions so strongly” goosebumps. After the ceremony every one of their family members was just as sweet as them, we ran threw family portraits and had some extra time to play with the gorgeous stained glass in this church, I am such a sucker for it! After that, we had a chance to walk down to Congress Ave and shoot with some awesome murals and urban elements. I love how any part of Austin you visit almost always has a mural in walking distance!
