Marielle & Frank - A Road Trip to Engagement Photos!

When these two got engaged, I lost my mind. Marielle and I have been friends since high school, and I knew Frank was her person when they started dating and I saw them interact. They live in Houston now, and we ended up planning their engagement session in their city(thanks to Austin for raining us out when they were in town!), and it was such a blast! I love any excuse to travel and shoot in a different city than my own. My favorite part is honestly the drive, getting to see all the funky elements of small town Texas on my way down.

As someone who doesn’t shoot in this city often, I let them take the reins on picking the location, and they did not disappoint! We started at the McGovern Centennial Gardens, and wow is this place a great mix of architecture and floral elements. We did have quite the challenge shooting, seeing as there was some prom event going on nearby, so there were 1,001 high schoolers for us to maneuver around! Afterwards we did a quick wardrobe change(they live 2 minutes away from the gardens!), and headed to Hermann park for some relaxed and casual shooting. I can’t wait to have another client based out of Houston, the architecture and parks here are such a playground for photographers.

Oh, and since we are friends, there are a TON of bloopers of us being goofy, which are honestly my favorites always.
